Follow these steps to search for a title in Land Titles Online.

  1. Select the file you want to work in from your Workspace.
    • The file you select is the file the title will be stored after purchase.

  2. Select the Search and Order tab.
    • If the file is empty, this tab is open by default.

  3. Choose the Titles tab then select the Title sub-tab that matches your search criteria.
    • Title number.
    • Personal name.
    • Business name.
    • Survey (Lot/parcel, block, and plan).
    • Parish.
    • Township (quarter section, section, township, and range).
    • Condominium unit.

 

Important details

  • You won’t be charged to search for titles. Charges apply only you complete the purchase.

  • Add items to your cart anytime, and remove them before completing your order if needed.

  • Search result statuses:
    • Your results include titles with Active, In Error, and Cancelled statuses.
    • In Error titles cannot be purchased.
    • Cancelled titles are excluded by default but can be included by removing the filter.

 

Title search limitations

You may not find the follow titles in your search results:

  • Paper titles
    • Titles still in paper form (no electronic version) don't appear in your search results.
    • Paper titles may appear in the Title Summary under Additional Information if the current title originates from a paper title.
    • Contact our Client Service Team to order this paper title.

  • Subdivisions
    • If you are searching for a specific legal description and cannot find the title, the land may have been subdivided and assigned a new legal description.
    • Contact our Client Service Team for help if you cannot determine the new legal land description.

  • Cancelled titles
    • Your title search defaults to exclude cancelled titles.
    • Remove this filter, located to the left of the search button, to include cancelled titles in your results.
