The default option is no land transfer tax exemption. If this is the case then no further information is required.
If there is an exemption to be claimed then several more fields will expand for you to provide the details of the exemption. First you will need to select the transferee claiming an exemption from the dropdown list.
If more than one transferee is claiming an exemption you can add additional transferees with the option.
Once the transferee claiming the exemption has been identified, you will select the nature of the exemption from the list provided. For each exemption type several additional fields will need to be completed. The list of available exemptions is based on the nature of the transferors and the transferees in the Transfer. For example, a corporation cannot claim a transfer of non-commercial property exemption from their spouse or common-law partner.
