Please review the Registrar-General Directive entitled Destroyed Duplicate Titles dated March 21, 2017: https://teranetmanitoba.ca/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/destroyed_duplicate_titles.pdf which states in part:
I hereby authorize the Land Titles District Registrars to dispense with the production of duplicate titles where they are satisfied that those titles have been deliberately destroyed.
This authorization is effective immediately.
Evidence that a duplicate title has been deliberately destroyed is to come in the form of an affidavit from the person who destroyed the title. It should confirm that:
1. They had physical possession of the duplicate title prior to destruction. A copy of the title made prior to destruction is to be attached to the affidavit as an exhibit.
2. They destroyed the duplicate title. The manner in which the title was destroyed should be specified.
